What Can You Do?

About Kathryn N. Moore

If you read my homepage, you can see that I'm running for State Assembly, District 7, of California. I have been politically active since even high school, where I helped the Progressive Club in our mutual interest of getting signatures for a specific petition to redistrict an extremely gerrymandered state. Though I am not affiliated with progressivism, sometimes we have similar goals that are wonderful to work towards. My father worked in eminent domain, keeping the government from stealing...er...seizing private property that the owner had worked hard and honestly for. He would tell me about his cases, and I learned an extraordinary amount.

I moved to California when I was 18 specifically to go to Sonoma State University. Immediately, I signed up with the Libertarian website as a volunteer, eager to better the world around me by promoting freedom that I so deeply believe in. Very shortly after, I was named Chair of the Sonoma Libertarian Party, and have since jumped head first into local politics. To start with, I spoke out against Santa Rosa City Council when they discriminated against a shop owner. He was trying to keep his shop open as late as every shop around him and as his previous owners had done. I waited SIX HOURS to speak for two minutes at the Santa Rosa City Council's "trial" against Lowe's honestly building on property. I was also at almost every Wednesday Night Market to educate people on what Libertarians are. I have tons of easy, practical, intelligent solutions to solve the quagmire up in Sacramento, and the perserverence to pull them off.
